Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Nididi, has become the primary target for Spanish giants, Real Madrid, after manager Carlo Ancelotti made a request for the signing of the Nigeria international.

According to Fichajes, the Los Blancos are keen to explore the option of signing the Super Eagles midfielder during the January transfer window.

Manchester United are also believed to be interested in Ndidi, but according to Fichajes, Real are ready to beat United to the signing of the 24-year-old midfielder in January, with Ancelotti viewing him as a long-term replacement for Casemiro who is not performing up to expectations.

Fichajes reports that Ancelotti, who is not satisfy with the performance of the Brazilian, has made it known to the club president Florentino Pérez that it is necessary to strengthen the midfield position in the next market with Ndidi the primary target.

“Casemiro does not have a permanent replacement on the roster,” the website wrote.

“Eduardo Camavinga and Antonio Blanco are of a different profile, despite also being able to play as midfielders only in a 4-3-3, and they do not offer individual solutions at the defensive level at the Brazilian level, so Ancelotti is clear who he wants to be his New midfielder, both for the long term and to compete for ownership right now. We are talking about Wilfred Ndidi.

“The Nigerian, who has been on Real Madrid’s agenda for three years, has become one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since winning his starting spot at Leicester City and is destined to make the leap to a most important club with Manchester United following in their footsteps for the summer market.”

Ndidi, who has made 187 appearances for the Foxes since arriving from Genk in January 2017, contributing nine goals and 11 assists in the process, has a market value of €60m and will not come so cheap.
