A popular US streaming service, Netflix has acquired ‘Fate of Alakada’, a 2020 movie produced by Nigerian actress, Toyin Abraham.
Abraham took to her social media pages on Friday to break the good news.
“Hello fam! I’m so happy to let you know that Netflix has got my movie, Fate of Alakada. So, to all my abroad fans and those who missed the chance to see it at the cinemas, please go and subscribe/renew your Netflix subscriptions now because Fate of Alakada is coming to Netflix soonest,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Tell one, tell all. I love you guys so much. Thanks for always supporting me. Ẹsé mo dúpẹ́.”
However, Abraham, did not disclose when the movie will make its debut on the streaming giant.
The action-comedy movie follows the story of Yetunde (Abraham), a young girl from a poor background who engages in the act of making up stories about her financial and social status to fit in with the crowd as a result of her inferiority complex
It starred indigenous musicians like Davido and Peruzzi as well as Broda Shaggi, a comedian.
The movie, directed by Kayode Kasum, became a hit shortly after its release in October and was among the most talked-about movies of 2020.
