Ed Sheeran teased his return to music with a new single tomorrow, marking his first release in nearly 18 months.
The musician, 29, on Monday, sent fans wild with a cryptic social media post about giving them a “Christmas present”.
Ed Sheeran who became a father for the first time in August, disappointed fans when announced last year that in order to prioritise his family life, he would be stepping back from performing.
However, he has left his avid listeners thrilled and excited after he shared a post on Sunday to signal his imminent return to the forefront of music.
In a new Instagram post shared on Sunday, Sheeran wrote: “11am GMT tomorrow. A Christmas present.”
On his Instagram story, he shared the same message, followed by a short clip of him settling down to play his guitar.
The star last shared new music in 2019 with his star-studded ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ album, which saw him team up with the likes of Stormzy, Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, and Cardi B.
Although it has not been officially confirmed what Ed will be releasing tomorrow, radio station Power Radio tweeted that the musician would release a new single called ‘The Afterglow’.
His teaser comes just days after he indicated he is to emerge from retirement.
In August 2019, Ed Sheeran announced his hiatus from music after more than 250 performances on the road, announcing that he needed a break to focus on his family.
Fans are glad he is back and he is giving them something refreshing to listen to.
