Jurors on Monday begins trial of ex-police officer charged with killing George Floyd. People across the US are bracing for the verdict.
Chauvin, 45, is charged with murder and manslaughter over Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020.
Chauvin was captured on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck as he was pinned facedown and handcuffed on the ground for more than nine minutes complaining, “I can’t breathe.”
Floyd’s death sparked a nationwide reckoning on racism and has become a landmark to test police accountability in the State.
