Amid report of another cheating scandal, Abolore Akande, Nigerian singer better known as 9ice, has called on Nigerians to help plead with his wife, Olasunkami.
The controversy sprung up when a viral video of the singer caressing another woman had earlier surfaced online.
On Saturday, 9ice, in an Instagram post titled ‘save a sinking vessel’ admitted that he had done “something shameful and Terrible.” pleading with the public to help beg his wife to forgive him.
The 40-year-old singer noting that he cannot afford seeing his current marriage hit the rock again said he had experienced several marital failures in the past.
“I have done something so shameful, something terrible and it’s costing me my family. And the most important thing to me right now is my family. That 9ice that you’ll always see and appreciate is because l have a backbone, my wife, Olasunkami Akande,” he said in the now-viral video.
“And because of this terrible thing that l have done, it’s costing me a whole lot. I apologise for what l have done and l need you guys to help me beg my wife. She is my backbone.
“That 9ice that you always see, that strives, that brings out the best in our culture and tradition is because I have a backbone
“I have excelled in so many other things and what thing that l have been failing is my marriage. But l want this marriage to work. Please and please, help me beg my wife. Save this marriage for me. God bless you.”
The news is coming a few weeks to the first wedding anniversary of the lovebirds who got married in December 2019.
They had given birth to their first daughter, Michelle Abolanle Akande about five years before their marriage.
