American rapper, T-Pain, has apologised for “accidentally” ignoring direct messages (DM) on Instagram from multiple global entertainers including DJ Cuppy, Mayorkun, Fergie, and Juliet Ibrahim.
On Thursday, T-Pain shared a video of the “requests” folder from his Instagram account, where he explained that he had lost sight of the messages from celebrities who attempted to reach him for up to two years.
He said: “I was today years old when I found out about the request folder on Instagram that’s full of celebs trying to reach me. Dude, Is that Fergie? Smh. I’ve been accidentally ignoring all these people for like two years.
“I thought DMs were supposed to just show up in their normal folders and you don’t have to go digging for all these. I apologise to everyone on this list hundreds of others I couldn’t fit in this video. Yup, I’m stupid.”

In the video, the singer looks defeated while shaking his head upon realising how many people he had ignored.
In the caption, he added: “I swear! I’m just now seeing all these messages and mentions TODAY! How do I super apologize? Press conference? Townhall meeting? I’m dumb.”
Among those whose message T-Pain ignored are Diplo, Keri Hilson, Viola Davis, Nate Robinson, and YBN Nahmir.
Like Facebook, Instagram has a section for messages from stranger accounts you don’t interact with. Since the video-sharing site’s “message requests” don’t trigger notifications, they may go unnoticed for quite some time.
