Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa has been linked with a move to join Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on a short term deal.
The 28-year-old has been without a club since leaving Al Nassr in October 2020.
According to Daily Mail, West Brom have scheduled him for a medical on Wednesday having requested a visa for the winger.
Musa’s reported move to the Baggies when finalised will mark his second spell in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles skipper was signed by Leicester City from CSKA Moscow on a four-year contract for a club-record fee of around £16m. Musa scored 55 goals in 167 appearances for the Russian club.
Musa’s time at the King Power Stadium is one to forget in a hurry where he managed to feature in just 21 games, mostly as an injury-time substitute.
He was later loaned back to CSKA by Leicester City for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign and was sold to Al Nassr in January 2019 having played 62 times in all competitions before being released by the former Premier League Champions.
Musa has score 11 goals in his 58 appearances for Nigeria since making his debut in 2010.
He scored twice in Nigeria’s 3-2 defeat to Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil to become the first Nigerian to score twice in a World Cup finals match.
His first goal in that Group F game was Nigeria’s fastest in the World Cup after just four minutes into the game.
The former Leicester City forward is also Nigeria’s all-time world cup goal scorer with four goals – a brace each against Argentina and Iceland in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
